Tactical Days
Join us for Tactical Days, The Military Museums’ premier summer event, taking place August 15–16. This high-energy weekend brings together local Calgary-area military units and first responders for an up-close look at the people, vehicles, and equipment that support operations at home and abroad.
OUR PURPOSE
To assist local, provincial and federal agencies in Ground Search and Rescue operations in all conditions and environments.
WHO WE ARE
We are a volunteer Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) team experienced in urban, rural, and backcountry terrain. We operate under the Incident Command System (ICS) with trained Search Managers and Team Leaders to coordinate safe, efficient operations.
OUR RESOURCES
The resources we are able to deploy include rescue/support vehicles, a mobile command post, a mountain‑bike team, an Incident Management Team, off‑highway vehicles (OHVs), radio communication equipment, and metal detectors.
HOW TO ENGAGE US
Calgary Search and Rescue must be activated by a government agency in order to deploy. We work with agencies such as Calgary Police Service, RCMP, Calgary Emergency Management Agency, Parks Canada, Calgary Fire Department, Search and Rescue Alberta.

Look at the forecast to prepare for any sudden changes. Weather in the mountains can change in an instant.

Be aware of your physical condition and avoid overexertion, especially in hot weather.

Bring water, basic survival kit, bear spray, fully charged mobile phone, and a small first aid kit.
